Troops Rescue Polytechnic Rector and 21 Others in Zamfara

Troops of Sector 2, part of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, successfully rescued Dr Aminu Yusuf, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda, along with 21 other civilians during military operations in Zamfara State. The operations were a response to coordinated kidnapping attempts by terrorists.

Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North West, reported that during one incident, terrorists attacked Dr Yusuf's residence, resulting in the death of his private security guard and injuries to another resident. The military's rapid response engaged the attackers, leading to the rescue of Dr Yusuf and his family without injury.

In a separate operation on the same day, troops responded to a distress call from Tungan Dorawa in Barkeji Village, where terrorists were attempting to abduct residents. Despite challenging terrain, the soldiers managed to disrupt the operation and prevent further kidnappings.
