PDP's Turaki Confirms Plans for 2027 Elections

The Interim National Working Committee (INWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), chaired by Dr Tanimu Turaki, is committed to fielding candidates for the 2027 elections, including presidential, National Assembly, governorship, and State Houses of Assembly positions. Despite facing challenges, including a lack of recognition from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which acknowledges the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Honourable Abdulrahman Mohammed, Turaki expressed confidence in their eventual recognition.

The INWC has been unsuccessful in court to be recognized as the authentic PDP leadership, with a recent suit by the Board of Trustees being struck out by an Abuja Federal High Court. During a strategy meeting, Turaki reassured party members that the PDP would be on the ballot for the 2027 elections, emphasizing the importance of participation in the electoral process.

He attributed the current crises in opposition parties to the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.
