Explosion at Plateau Petrol Station Leaves Two Dead

On Saturday, an explosion at a petrol station operated by Natti Petroleum Investment Nigeria Ltd in the Daffo district of Bokko Local Government Area, Plateau State, led to the feared deaths of two individuals and injuries to three others. The Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Alfr Alabo, confirmed the incident, clarifying that it was mistakenly circulated online as a bomb blast.

The police stated that the explosion occurred while repair work was ongoing on an underground storage tank at the petrol station. Alabo emphasized that the incident was an industrial accident rather than an act of terrorism, countering alarmist reports that had spread misinformation about a bomb blast in the region.
