Katsina Police Arrest Two Gunrunners with 305 Rounds of AK-47 Ammunition

The Katsina State Police Command announced the arrest of two gunrunners, Shu Aibu Musa and Ahm Sani, on January 27, 2026, along the Zaria-Funtua highway. During a stop-and-search operation, the police intercepted the suspects riding a motorcycle and recovered six AK-47 magazines and 305 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition hidden on them.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly obtained the arms and ammunition from Plateau State to deliver to a notorious bandit kingpin. The suspects admitted to receiving the exhibits in Plateau State for the bandit leader.

The recovered items are now in police custody as investigations continue. The Police Commissioner, Bello Shehu, commended the operation and urged the public to support the police with credible information to enhance security in the state.
