Two Rescued from Wells in Kano, Nigeria

On June 7, 2023, two separate incidents of individuals falling into wells occurred in Kano, Nigeria. The first incident involved a 40-year-old man who fell into a well located at Samegu El Sadeeq Bread in Kumbotso Local Government Area (LGA).

The Kano State Fire Service, under the direction of Alhaji Sani, responded to the distress call received at 9:40 AM and successfully rescued the man, who was found unconscious. The second incident took place in Madarin Taba Village, Warawa LGA, where a 32-year-old woman named Maimuna Shitu and her 18-month-old son, Harisu Muntari, were discovered inside a well.

Maimuna's father, Muhammad Shitu, indicated that she suffers from mental illness. Both victims were rescued and taken to a medical facility for treatment.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding these incidents are ongoing, as stated by Salisu Salihu of the Panshekara Police Division.
