UNIZIK Students Strip Lecturer Over Sexual Assault Allegation

On Saturday, students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Anambra State attacked and stripped an unidentified lecturer from the Department of Chinese Studies following allegations of attempted sexual assault on a female student. The incident occurred after the female student emerged from the lecturer's office, claiming he had attempted to molest her.

A viral video showed students physically assaulting the lecturer, who was completely stripped in the university premises. UNIZIK spokesman Aloysius Attah condemned the violence, stating that the university management is saddened by the incident and has ordered an immediate investigation.

Vice-Chancellor Ugochukwu Anyaehie emphasized the university's zero-tolerance policy towards sexual misconduct and highlighted that allegations must be addressed through proper institutional procedures. The university is committed to ensuring the safety and dignity of its staff and students and will take decisive action against any violations.

This incident follows a similar case at Paul University in Awka, where a lecturer was suspended for serious sexual misconduct.
