Police Investigate AIG Moshood Jimoh Over Corruption Claims

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the commencement of an internal investigation into Assistant Inspector-General of Police Moshood Jimoh, who oversees Zone 2 Command, due to corruption allegations made by social media activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM). The police stated that AIG Jimoh has been summoned for questioning as part of the internal administrative process.

A related criminal case is currently before a competent court, and the police emphasized that public commentary should not influence ongoing judicial matters. The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, clarified that VeryDarkMan has been invited to provide evidence supporting his allegations.

The Force Criminal Investigation Department formally invited VeryDarkMan on July 30, 2026, to substantiate his claims. The police reiterated their commitment to investigating credible allegations of misconduct, regardless of the rank of the officer involved or the profile of the complainant.
