Akpabio Declares Wrong Party Choice During PDP Tenure

Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President and former governor of Akwa Ibom State, declared that he was in the wrong party during his tenure in the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and has since found his political home in the All Progressives Congress (APC). Akpabio made these comments on Friday while inaugurating an access road in the Karsana district of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), coinciding with President Bola Tinubu's third year in office.

He responded to praise from Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, regarding his performance during his time in the PDP. Akpabio emphasized that the APC is the right political family for him, stating that he left the PDP due to its deep divisions and the inability to unite its factions.

He reflected on his past visits to Wike during his governorship in Rivers State, acknowledging Wike's commitment to infrastructure development.
