NDC Declares Independence from Electoral Vehicle Role

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared that it will not act as a Special Purpose Vehicle for elections. During a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, the party's leadership outlined measures aimed at strengthening internal governance, enforcing discipline, and promoting accountability.

The NEC reaffirmed the principle of party supremacy and emphasized that appointments should be made based on party platforms and consultations. The NDC aims to institutionalize its structure to ensure it evolves into a sustainable democratic platform.

The committee also announced the establishment of a National Reconciliation Committee to address grievances and foster unity among members. Additionally, the NEC approved the development of a comprehensive code of conduct for party officials and candidates to promote transparency and integrity.

The NDC is committed to strengthening its financial accountability and ensuring that all campaign contributions are fully disclosed. The party aims to position itself as a credible alternative for governance in Nigeria.
