Aregbesola Discusses ADC's Election Losses in Anambra, FCT

Rauf Aregbesola, speaking at the ADC national convention on Tuesday, addressed the party's failure to win the Anambra State governorship election on November 25 and the FCT area council poll on February 26. He identified several internal challenges, including inadequate funding and underdeveloped party structures, as significant contributors to the losses.

Aregbesola also noted that external factors played a role, particularly the advantage held by rival parties due to incumbency, excessive monetization of the electoral process, and the misuse of state power. He emphasized that despite these setbacks, the ADC has learned valuable lessons and is working to reposition itself ahead of the upcoming governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states, as well as the FCT area council elections, where they aim to secure five out of six contested seats.
