Amaechi Critiques Sowore at NBA Conference in Rivers

During a panel session at the 2026 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, the former Governor of Rivers State and Vice Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), criticized Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC). Amaechi stated that Sowore should refrain from speaking when "real politicians" are discussing matters.

He boasted about his accomplishments as Governor, including investments in infrastructure such as schools and roads, and mentioned his tenure as Minister of Transportation, where he oversaw operational rail lines. Amaechi expressed uncertainty about the status of these rail lines under President Bola Tinubu's administration.

This confrontation arose after Sowore had previously stated that Nigerians should not trust politicians like Amaechi, who have been in power for years and have failed, asserting that the rail lines built during Amaechi's tenure "went nowhere.".
