Lawyer Calls for Davido to Apologize to Governor Okpebholo

Timothy Tugbiyele, a legal practitioner and author, has called for Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, to apologize to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo. This request stems from Davido's social media post displaying Okpebholo's alleged West African Examinations Council (WAEC) result, which he shared shortly after Okpebholo mocked Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke for his dancing.

Okpebholo criticized Adeleke's leadership style while campaigning for Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress candidate. Tugbiyele stated that while the alleged WAEC result may not have been impressive, it was inappropriate for Davido to ridicule the governor.

He suggested that Governor Adeleke should have responded through official channels rather than allowing Davido to engage in the exchange. Tugbiyele emphasized the difference in social status between Davido and Okpebholo and described Davido's actions as disrespectful, appealing for humility and an apology from the singer.
