Kenneth Okonkwo Leaves Peter Obi for Atiku Abubakar

Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), revealed his decision to distance himself from Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and align with Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria. Okonkwo's decision was influenced by his belief that Atiku recognizes the value of political relevance, unlike Obi, whom he accused of betraying trust.

During an interview on Thursday, Okonkwo expressed concerns about Obi's leadership style, describing it as lacking the firm decisiveness necessary to govern Nigeria effectively. He publicly distanced himself from Obi, stating that he had reached the conclusion that Obi did not possess the qualities needed to lead the country.

Okonkwo emphasized that he had not spoken to Obi since July 2024 and felt it necessary to announce his exit to avoid confusion regarding his political allegiance. He made strong allegations against Obi, claiming that the former governor had betrayed the support he received during their political relationship.
