Wike-Fubara Crisis: An Internal PDP Matter, Says Eradiri

Udengs Eradiri, the former President of the Ijaw Youths Council Worldwide, asserted that the political crisis between former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and his successor Siminalayi Fubara was strictly an internal matter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and not related to the Ijaw ethnic group. Eradiri expressed that he had been vindicated regarding his stance on the crisis, recalling that some Ijaw leaders had criticized him for not aligning with their political interests.

He commended Fubara for returning to his political family but warned that the crisis had caused significant divisions that would take time to mend. Eradiri rejected the notion that Fubara's rise to governorship was a collective decision of the Ijaw people, stating that Wike did not consult the ethnic group before making his choice.

He also noted that Fubara's limited political experience contributed to the crisis and emphasized that Wike had previously supported the Ijaw community after Goodluck Jonathan's presidency, countering claims that Wike was an enemy of the Ijaw.
