Wike Warns Abuja Car Dealers of Vehicle Impoundment

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), issued a stern warning to car dealers and roadside transporters in Abuja regarding their operations in green areas and parks. During an inspection tour, Wike expressed concern over the persistent disregard for the FCT Administration’s directives, which have been communicated multiple times.

He stated that vehicles found violating these directives would be impounded and auctioned by the government. Wike emphasized that some Nigerians only respond to firm government actions against violations.

The FCT Administration has recently implemented two significant directives: public transporters are required to use designated bus terminals, and car dealers must cease operations in restricted areas. These measures are part of the administration's broader efforts to tackle flooding in the territory and improve security within the transportation sector.
