Wike Pledges Erosion Solutions and Road Projects in Abaji

On Tuesday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), visited Abaji to express gratitude on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the council's support during the February 21, 2026 elections. Wike committed to addressing erosion challenges and completing abandoned road projects in the Abaji Area Council.

He assured the residents that the Federal Government would tackle erosion problems affecting two communities and announced the commencement of design work for the palace of the Ona of Abaji. Additionally, Wike elevated traditional rulers in the council, upgrading second-class traditional rulers to first-class and third-class rulers to second-class.

He emphasized the importance of hard work and promised that the long-awaited University of Science and Technology in Abaji would soon become operational, creating job opportunities and fostering greater development in the town.
