Wike Upgrades Nine FCT Chieftaincy Stools to First Class

On Tuesday, during a thank-you meeting held in the Abaji area council, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, announced the elevation of nine chieftaincy stools from second class to first class. This upgrade includes the chiefdoms of Karu, Jiwa, Garki, Karshi, Aguma, Gwagwalada, Gomo, Kuje, Pai, Sarki Bwari, Esu, Kwali, and Ona Abaji, bringing the total number of first-class chiefdoms in the FCT to ten.

Wike emphasized that this change is expected to significantly reshape the traditional leadership structure across the six area councils of the FCT. He also promised to construct a palace for the Ona Abaji and urged the council chairman to provide the design.

Wike reiterated the commitment of the administration under President Bola Tinubu to support local leadership and development projects, including road construction, highlighting the importance of community loyalty and advocacy.
