PDP Chieftain Declares Wike's Faction Null and Void

Dr. Adetokunbo Pears, a chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), declared that the faction associated with Nyesom Wike is no longer legally recognized, referencing a recent court ruling.

This ruling stems from a Supreme Court judgment delivered on April 30, 2025, with a certified true copy becoming available on November 1, 2025. The court's decision addressed the ongoing dispute regarding the authentic leadership within the PDP.

Pears noted that the ruling determined the status of competing factions within the party, specifically challenging the legitimacy of Wike's faction against that of Samuel Anyanwu. The appeal court's judgment on November 1, 2025, confirmed that Wike's faction is null and void, thereby legitimizing the faction led by Anyanwu.

This latest court pronouncement invalidates the structure backing Wike and strengthens the claims of the Turaki camp within the PDP, amidst ongoing internal crises and rivalries.
