Wike's Son Denies $2.1M Land Deal, Claims Forgery

Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, the son of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has denied receiving $2.1 million from businessman Safwan Garba for an alleged land deal in Abuja. During a court session on Wednesday, he stated that his signature on a document related to the transaction was forged.

The case, marked CV/008/2026, is being heard by Justice Silvanus Oriji at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory. The claimants, GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, are seeking to recover the alleged payment linked to a proposed property development involving land in Katampe and Guzape.

Jordan asserted that he had no knowledge of the claimants or the alleged payment, and he disputed the authenticity of the contract presented in court. He was previously ordered to produce his American passport to verify his whereabouts on the date the payment was said to have occurred.

The claimants allege that they entered into a joint venture with Jordan for a real estate project, which included specific terms regarding land contribution and profit sharing.
