Bauchi Women Groups Reject APC Governorship Primary Results

A coalition of women groups within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has formally petitioned the National Chairman, Professor Nentaw Yilwatda, to reject the results of the governorship primary elections conducted on June 29, 2026. The coalition expressed profound concern and disappointment over the alleged lack of credibility and failure to meet democratic standards during the primary process.

They claimed that the results were manipulated to produce a consensus candidate, former Governor Moham Abdullahi Abubakar, which has not inspired confidence among party members and has led to growing dissatisfaction within the APC. The coalition emphasized that their petition aims to protect the integrity of the APC and uphold principles of justice, transparency, and fair internal democracy.

They urged the national leadership to review the circumstances surrounding the primary and ensure that future nominations reflect the party's constitutional democratic ideals, thereby strengthening party unity and rebuilding public confidence ahead of the 2027 governorship elections.
