Group Challenges Sheikh Jingir's Claims on Plateau Support

The group One Plateau, One Voice, led by convener Dogo Nanzing, has condemned Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir's assertion that Plateau people support the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 elections. Nanzing stated during an appearance on the People’s Movement podcast that Jingir lacks the authority to represent Plateau residents, as he is a settler and not an indigene of the state.

He described Jingir's claims as insulting and accused him of using religion for personal and political gain, asserting that Jingir does not speak for Muslims in Plateau State. Nanzing emphasized that Jingir's views do not reflect the sentiments of the broader population and labeled him a self-centered religious bigot.

He referenced the Jama’atu Nasril Islam's state chapter, which distanced itself from Jingir's statements, indicating that he speaks solely for himself. Nanzing urged the Plateau State government to take measures against divisive religious teachings.
