Wike: Opposition Parties Must Win Elections to Be Credible

Nyesom Wike, during a visit to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) national secretariat at Wadata House in Abuja, stated that a political group cannot be considered a credible opposition party without winning elections. He made these remarks on Friday, asserting that electoral performance is the true measure of political relevance in a democracy.

Wike highlighted the importance of the PDP leadership in addressing internal challenges and rebuilding unity within the party. He expressed confidence in the party's future despite ongoing political and legal challenges, including a case at the Federal High Court.

Wike called for reconciliation efforts to reach out to former members who may be interested in returning to the party. He also pledged loyalty to the new National Working Committee (NWC) and emphasized the need for hard work and sacrifice to move the party forward.

Abdulrahman Mohd, the PDP national chairman, was acknowledged for his role in restoring public trust ahead of future elections.
