Nwabufo Defends Tinubu Against Obi's Allegations

Frederick Nwabufo, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant on Public Engagement to President Bola Tinubu, responded to comments made by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, regarding Tinubu's past records. Obi had referenced an ongoing legal battle in a United States District Court concerning allegations of Tinubu's involvement in drug trafficking.

In his statement, Nwabufo acknowledged that while Tinubu's past may not be perfect, the continued focus on it by Obi has become unreasonable. He labeled Obi's claims as "ludicrous" and insisted that there is no "imperfect past" regarding Tinubu, asserting that the allegations have been thoroughly investigated and found to be false and libelous, with determinations made by the highest court in Nigeria.

Nwabufo criticized the opposition for relying on slander and slurs instead of substantive campaign issues.
