Zamfara Group to Sue Matawalle Over Certificate Fraud

The Zamfara State Concern Citizen group, led by Barrister Musa Abdullahi, has announced plans to initiate legal proceedings against former Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle. The group alleges that Matawalle obtained his educational qualifications from a vocational training center in Bunza through fraudulent means.

Despite these allegations, he was appointed as a minister. The group contends that such actions violate constitutional requirements for public office and undermine public trust in democratic institutions.

They emphasize that Nigerian law treats forgery and false declarations as criminal offenses, and any public official found guilty of such acts should face legal consequences. The group argues that no individual should benefit from public office through misrepresentation and insists that public office holders must adhere to the highest ethical standards.

They plan to file a report and have not received a public response from Matawalle regarding these allegations.
