Gombe Police Recover 119 AK-47 Ammunition Rounds

On May 19, 2026, the Gombe State Police Command recovered 119 rounds of 7.62mm AK-47 live ammunition concealed in a white sack along Kalshingi Road in Kwadon, Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area. The recovery followed credible information received by the division police office at approximately 10:30 AM.

DSP Buhari Abdullahi reported that the suspicious sack was hidden near a tree opposite a graveyard. Upon investigation, the police found the sack contained the live ammunition, two empty ammunition packets, and two bottles with moringa seeds.

The police command has intensified monitoring and surveillance in the area to identify and apprehend those connected to the concealed ammunition. Commissioner Bello Yahaya commended the public for providing timely information and urged residents to remain vigilant and continue to assist security agencies in their efforts to protect lives and property across the state.
