Student Killed in Abia Road Accident on April 19, 2026

On April 19, 2026, a tragic road accident in Abia State claimed the life of Ifeanyi Mmesoma Miracl, a 200-level student at Abia State University. The incident occurred along the Okigwe-Afikpo Expressway in the Water Board area of Uturu.

According to Maureen Chioma Chinaka, the Abia State Police Command's public relations officer, the accident involved a head-on collision between two motorcycles, which resulted in passengers being thrown onto the road. Miracl was subsequently struck by an oncoming Mack truck.

Following the accident, injured victims were transported to the hospital for treatment, while the deceased's body was released to the family after confirmation of death by medical personnel. The police have arrested a suspect connected to the incident and are actively working to apprehend two additional suspects involved.
