Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Accident of ABSU Student

The Abia State Police Command confirmed the arrest of a suspect linked to a fatal road accident that claimed the life of Ifeanyi Mmesoma Miracl, a 200-level student at Abia State University. The incident occurred on April 19, 2026, along the Okigwe-Afikpo Expressway in Uturu.

According to Maureen Chioma Chinaka, the police public relations officer, the accident involved a head-on collision between two motorcycles, which resulted in the passenger being thrown onto the road. Subsequently, Miracl was struck by an oncoming Mack truck.

The accident drew public attention following a viral video showing the victim's lifeless body at the scene. Chinaka noted that the injured victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, while the deceased's family was informed of her passing.

The motorcycles involved in the accident were recovered and taken to the police station, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend two additional suspects connected to the incident.
