2026 Argungu Motor Rally Showcases Nigeria's Automotive Growth

The 2026 Argungu Motor Rally, marking the 61st edition of the Argungu Fish Festival, commenced on February 11, 2026, at MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja. The rally featured 25 distinct vehicle brands, including OMAA, Yutong, JIM, LSM, Mikano, GAC, and Wulin, demonstrating Nigeria's growing automotive culture.

The event covered a distance of 3,000 kilometers across various states, including Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, and Kebbi. Chinedu Oguegbu, Managing Director of OMAA, expressed gratitude to the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDAC), led by Joseph Oluwemimo Osanipin, for their support.

The rally highlighted the need for improved logistics and safety measures, with a focus on risk assessment and communication to avoid operational friction. Despite challenges, the event underscored the significance of collaboration among manufacturers and regulators, reinforcing public interest in local vehicle assembly and distribution.
