Sowore Pledges to Avoid Foreign Medical Treatment if Elected

Omoyele Sowore, the 2027 presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), declared during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today that he would not travel abroad for medical treatment if elected president. He stated, “Any sickness that I can’t treat in Nigeria when I become president should better kill me.” Sowore also expressed his intention to avoid bringing family liabilities to Nigeria, asserting that he would focus on serving the Nigerian populace without using the presidency for personal or family benefits.

He criticized the concept of a First Lady, stating there is no constitutional basis for the position and that it often leads to wasteful spending of resources meant for national progress. He affirmed that while he would maintain his marriage, he would not support the establishment of an office of First Lady, emphasizing that women’s voices would still be heard in his administration.
