Balami Leads Obidient Leaders to Support Tinubu for 2027

On Friday, October 20, 2023, Isaac Balami, the former deputy campaign manager for the Obi/Datti Presidential Campaign, led a delegation of Obidient leaders and professionals to meet Seyi Tinubu in Abuja. During this meeting, they expressed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Balami, who joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) after the 2023 elections, cited a lack of purposeful leadership in the Labour Party as his reason for leaving. He officially presented the Obidient structure, which previously delivered over six million votes to Peter Obi, and pledged to mobilize 12 million votes for Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The meeting included leaders from various support groups, social media influencers, and representatives from professional associations. Balami recounted injustices faced by the Obidient Movement and emphasized the need for a new political structure within the APC.

Participants expressed their commitment to rallying support for the APC and shared their experiences of neglect during the Obi campaign.
