Emir of Daura’s Son to Contest for House of Reps 2027

Muhammad Daha Umar Faruk, the eldest son of the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk, has officially declared his intent to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing the Baur Zango federal constituency in the 2027 general elections. Faruk, who holds the traditional title of Danburam Daura, made this decision in response to persistent calls from constituents urging him to represent them in the National Assembly.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining decorum throughout the political process and urged supporters to refrain from engaging in toxic campaigning or disrespectful behavior towards others. While Faruk did not explicitly name the political platform he intends to run on, sources close to him suggest he may eventually align with either the All Progressives Congress (APC) or the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
