Kwara Board Sets Deadline for 2027 Hajj Payments

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj must complete their payments and documentation by September 26, 2026, as mandated by Saudi Arabian authorities. Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, the Executive Secretary of the Board, issued this reminder on Thursday in Ilorin, warning that delays could jeopardize visa processing and participation in the pilgrimage.

He noted that previous Hajj exercises saw some pilgrims unable to meet requirements on time, resulting in refunds or visa delays. Abdulkadir assured that the Board is working to enhance accommodation and welfare services for pilgrims, aiming to build on the successes of the 2026 Hajj.

Preparations for the 2027 Hajj are underway, including plans for early airlift operations with aircraft capable of over 200 passengers. He also clarified that the $400 Personal Travelling Allowance approved by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria was supplemented by a $100 donation from Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, which should not be confused with official allowances.
