Hanga Dismisses Obi, Kwankwaso's 2027 Presidential Chances

Hanga, representing the Kano Central Senatorial District, stated in an interview that neither Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) nor Rabiu Kwankwaso could secure victory in the 2027 presidential elections due to insufficient nationwide support. He noted that Kwankwaso's political influence has diminished, becoming largely confined to Kano State, with declining membership in neighboring states like Katsina, Jigawa, and Kaduna.

Hanga claimed that Obi's electoral strength is primarily concentrated in Anambra State. He also mentioned that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has a better chance of defeating President Bola Tinubu, attributing this to growing public dissatisfaction with Tinubu's administration regarding insecurity and economic hardship.

Hanga commented on the deteriorating relationship between Kwankwaso and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, suggesting that Yusuf's potential defection to the APC would be seen as a betrayal. Additionally, he revealed that Mustapha Kwankwaso, Rabiu Kwankwaso's eldest son, was selected as a running mate for the governorship candidate Aminu Abdulsalam.
