Labour Party Zones 2027 Presidential Ticket to South

The Labour Party has officially zoned its presidential ticket for the 2027 elections to the South, as disclosed by the party's chairman, Usman, during a consultative meeting with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja on Tuesday. Usman emphasized that despite the zoning arrangement, the party will adhere to a democratic process in selecting its candidates.

Additionally, she confirmed that a high court in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, dismissed a lawsuit challenging the legitimacy of the party's national caretaker committee. Usman hinted that the party might adjust the timeline for its upcoming congress, scheduled to begin on Thursday, March 26, to accommodate the growing number of new members joining the party.

Furthermore, the Labour Party has filed a formal petition with the Nigerian police following a recent security breach involving party property, expressing confidence that the authorities will investigate the matter and hold those responsible accountable to deter future political violence.
