Seyi Makinde Promises Nigeria Reset in Four Years if Elected

Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), asserted that Nigeria could be reset within four years if he is elected president in 2027. Speaking at the APM North-Central Town Hall Meeting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, he emphasized the need for a new security architecture, educational reforms, and economic revitalization through data, science, and logic.

Makinde criticized the Federal Government's handling of insecurity, particularly in the North-Central region, questioning the budgetary provisions for new army divisions. He highlighted the ongoing insecurity issues and the lack of effective government response.

Additionally, he discussed Oyo State's financial situation, noting a return to a high dependence on federal allocations after initially reducing it since he took office in 2019. Makinde's vision includes a transitional government of national unity aimed at sustainable development for Nigeria.
