Kano Commissioner Advocates for Southern Tenure Completion

Ibrahim Waiya, the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, called on Northerners to permit the South to complete its tenure under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu before the North seeks another presidential term. This statement was made during the unveiling of Nigeria Forward, a socio-political platform aimed at promoting national unity and supporting the Tinubu administration.

Waiya highlighted that the North had previously held power for eight years under former President Muhammadu Buhari, and it is now the South's turn. He warned that interrupting the current tenure could destabilize the country and hinder development.

The Nigeria Forward platform aims to foster national unity and encourage citizens to engage constructively with their government. Waiya also pointed out that the responsibility for national development does not solely lie with the President, urging citizens to scrutinize the actions of state and local governments.

He mentioned that Kano State has established a State Police Implementation Committee to address insecurity.
