Kano Commissioner Advocates for Southern Presidency Continuity

Ibrahim Waiya, the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, declared that it would be unfair for the North to deny the South its full eight-year term in the presidency, particularly under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Speaking at the unveiling of Nigeria Forward, a political platform aimed at promoting national unity and supporting Tinubu's re-election, Waiya urged Northerners to allow the South to complete its tenure.

He noted that the North had previously completed eight years under former President Muhammadu Buhari, and now it is the South's turn. Waiya warned that interrupting the current political arrangement could destabilize the country and undermine the reforms achieved under Tinubu's administration.

He also outlined Nigeria Forward's objectives of promoting national unity and consolidating developmental gains. Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, added that Nigeria Forward represents a collective effort to extend the benefits of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative.
