PDP to Retain Power in Oyo State, Says Gbolarumi

Hazeem Gbolarumi, the former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, declared that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) will maintain its power in Oyo State during the 2027 gubernatorial elections, despite facing current challenges. Gbolarumi made this assertion on Saturday, shortly after submitting his nomination form at the PDP national secretariat located in Wadata House, Abuja.

He arrived at the PDP secretariat with a large entourage from Oyo State, which included senior PDP officials and zonal leaders. Among those present were Diran Odeyemi, the national treasurer, Moham Jungudo, the south-west zonal public secretary, and Professor Rahman Akinoso, the state chairman.

Gbolarumi urged party members to embrace unity and emphasized the importance of addressing the challenges facing the party. He expressed confidence that the PDP would overcome these challenges and remain a credible alternative for voters in the upcoming elections.
