Ogun CJ Urges Judges to Uphold Integrity Ahead of 2027

Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, the Chief Judge of Ogun State, delivered a statement urging judges to protect their integrity and the sanctity of the judiciary, particularly in light of the upcoming 2027 elections. Speaking at a public lecture commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Ogun State Judiciary in Abeokuta, she called on judges to refrain from corrupt practices that could jeopardize public trust in the justice system.

Dipeolu highlighted the judiciary's role as a moral backbone of governance and stressed the importance of maintaining impartiality, especially in electoral matters. She noted the judiciary's growth and modernization efforts, including the introduction of digital processes to enhance efficiency and transparency.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Deputy Noimot Salako-Oyedun supported the call for judicial independence, emphasizing that the credibility of Nigeria's democracy relies on a neutral judiciary. The event also included activities such as a football match among judiciary workers and members of the Nigerian Bar Association.
