Amadi Supports Scrutiny of Tinubu and Atiku's Records

Sam Amadi, the Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, stated that it is appropriate for political candidates to scrutinize each other's records, particularly in the context of President Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Amadi emphasized that examining each other's criminal or public service histories is a fundamental aspect of politics.

He noted that Atiku has made various accusations against Tinubu, including claims about the president's age and has engaged the lobbying firm Von Batten-Montague-York to seek the release of documents related to Tinubu's alleged drug case. Conversely, the Tinubu administration has revived longstanding corruption allegations against Atiku from his time as vice president.

Amadi remarked that political discourse should not be overly sanitized, as leadership outcomes depend on character, competence, and policy.
