Taraba Government Denies Automatic Tickets for 2027 Elections

The Taraba State government has officially dismissed rumors regarding Governor Agbu Kefa's approval of automatic tickets for political aspirants in the upcoming 2027 elections. In a statement issued on Friday by Josiah Sabo Kent, Special Adviser on Political Matters, the government labeled the reports as false, baseless, and misleading.

Kent clarified that no arrangements exist for automatic tickets and emphasized that the governor is committed to democratic values, due process, and ensuring fair, transparent, and equal opportunities for all political activities within the state. He reaffirmed that aspirants would be given a level playing ground.

Additionally, Abubakar Bawa, the Taraba APC chairman, supported this stance, stating that the party does not operate on an automatic ticket system and that candidates will emerge strictly through credible and transparent primaries. The government urged against the spread of unverifiable information that could create division and weaken party unity ahead of the elections.
