Ogun Communities Urge Tinubu to Rebuild Key Road

Thousands of residents from over 40 communities along the Ijoko-Oyero-Lisa road in the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State have made a formal appeal to President Bola Tinubu for the urgent reconstruction of the 10.5-kilometre road. This appeal was made during a peaceful walk on Saturday to highlight the road's deplorable condition, which has worsened over the years, particularly impacting movement during the rainy season.

The road, originally constructed by the Ogun State Government after the Bellview Airlines Flight 210 crash on October 22, 2005, connects the communities to the Lisa Memorial Arcade, a site commemorating the crash victims. The Onilisa of Lisa Kingdom, Oba Nojeemdeen Oladele Odugbemi, supported the residents' call, emphasizing that the road's rehabilitation would enhance economic activities and improve residents' quality of life.

High Chief Akeem Kolawole, the Baale of Arugudu, expressed a cooperative approach towards the government, urging for assistance amidst competing demands. Community spokespersons underscored the road's significance to local residents.
