AAUA Students Protest for End to ASUU Strike

On Thursday, students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo, protested after being away from the classroom for 68 days due to the ongoing ASUU strike. The protest, organized by the Students’ Union Government (SUG), involved blocking major roads and the university’s main gate.

Students expressed their frustration over the prolonged disruption of their academic programs and the uncertainty regarding the resumption of classes. SUG President Comrade Folagbade Ayoola stated that students were struggling financially while university workers were reportedly owed salaries.

He emphasized the need for urgent resolution from the government and university management. SUG General Secretary Oluwatimileyin Amos highlighted the confusion faced by final-year students awaiting examinations.

The students vowed to continue protesting until the strike was resolved, calling for solidarity among their peers.
