Leke Abejide Wins All Wards in Kogi APC Primary Election

Leke Abejide secured a landslide victory in the Kogi APC House of Representatives primary for the Yagba Federal Constituency, winning all 34 wards across Yagba East, Yagba West, and Mopamuro Local Government Areas. The direct primary, held on Saturday, recorded a large turnout of APC members participating in the electoral exercise.

Results from the three local government areas showed overwhelming support for the incumbent lawmaker, with the party officials describing the outcome as a decisive exercise conducted peacefully. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information, praised the orderly conduct of the process, calling it free, fair, and credible.

Abejide received 892 votes, while his closest challenger scored only two votes, reflecting a similar pattern across the wards. Party members expressed their support for Abejide, attributing his victory to grassroots engagement and constituency outreach.

The results position Abejide as the APC candidate for the 2027 general elections, with party stakeholders optimistic about strengthening unity within the party.
