Abia CP Afolabi Pledges to Combat Crime Effectively

On Tuesday, during his inaugural briefing with senior officers, Commissioner of Police Wilfred Afolabi stated that Abia State would not be a safe haven for criminal elements. He committed to running an accountable, professional, and intelligence-driven police force aimed at protecting lives and property.

Afolabi emphasized his mission to enforce the law impartially and uphold integrity, aligning with the strategic re-engineering agenda of the Inspector-General of Police. He warned against extortion and corruption, asserting that accountability and professionalism are essential.

The CP highlighted the importance of intelligence-led policing and directed ongoing training for officers in various areas, including crime prevention and human rights. He also stressed the need for strong community relations and collaboration with other security agencies.

Afolabi commended Governor Alex Otti for his efforts in development and security, reaffirming the command's commitment to combating crime and enhancing public confidence through intensified policing efforts.
