Delta CP Erale Launches Intelligence-led Policing Agenda

Samuel Etaifo Erale has been appointed as the 25th Commissioner of Police in Delta State, unveiling an intelligence-driven policing agenda during his inaugural press briefing in Asaba. His strategy aims to address significant security threats such as kidnapping, cultism, armed robbery, cybercrime, and oil-related crimes.

Erale emphasized that the safety of lives and property would be a priority for the Delta State Police Command. His administration will focus on six key areas: discipline, community policing, synergy with other security agencies, aggressive crime-fighting, restoring public confidence, and reviewing crime-fighting methodologies.

He pledged to enforce police regulations and promote professionalism while rewarding officers who demonstrate integrity. The Commissioner plans to enhance community policing by collaborating with traditional rulers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to improve intelligence gathering.

Additionally, he aims to shift from reactive to proactive policing, utilizing technology and data analysis to adapt to emerging crime patterns.
