Cleaner Arrested for Stealing N18m Car in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command arrested 26-year-old Mohammed Dan-Azumi, a cleaner at Girei Cottage Hospital, for the theft of a 2016 Toyota Corolla Sport valued at approximately N18m. The vehicle belonged to a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps who had entrusted it to Dan-Azumi for washing.

After the suspect absconded with the vehicle, the owner reported the incident to the police. Following this report, operatives from the State Intelligence Department in Yola conducted a coordinated, intelligence-led operation that successfully tracked and arrested Dan-Azumi in Kano State.

The stolen vehicle was also recovered during this operation. Ongoing investigations are in place, and Dan-Azumi will be arraigned upon their conclusion.

The Commissioner of Police for Adamawa State, CP Kabiru Hassan, praised the investigating team's professionalism and reiterated the command's commitment to combating crime.
