ADC Chieftain Claims Primary Results Manipulated in Hotel

Ibrahim Wala, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), alleged on Wednesday that the results of the party's presidential primary election were written in a hotel room, indicating significant irregularities in the electoral process. Wala claimed that the outcome was determined outside the official voting process, describing the primary as a "brazen sham" and accusing party officials of betraying the values of the ADC.

He stated that many voters were disenfranchised during the exercise in Gombe State. Wala insisted that there was undisputed evidence of irregularities, including offers made to agents for leadership positions in a hotel room.

Following the primary, Rotimi Amaechi, a presidential aspirant and former Minister of Transport, publicly rejected the results, asserting that the process did not meet the standards promised by the party leadership. As of now, the ADC leadership has not officially responded to the allegations raised by Wala and Amaechi's camp.
