Matawalle Calls ADC Judgment a Win for Tinubu's Democracy

Mohammed Bello Matawalle, the former governor of Zamfara State and current Minister of State for Defence, described the recent judgment by the Federal High Court in Abuja, which affirmed David Mark's leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as a vindication of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's respect for the judiciary and the rule of law. Matawalle reacted to the court's dismissal of a suit filed by House of Representatives member Leke Abejide, which challenged the ADC leadership.

He emphasized that this ruling demonstrates Tinubu's commitment to an independent judiciary and due process, countering allegations of judicial interference in Nigeria's political system. Matawalle accused opposition politicians of spreading falsehoods to discredit the president and noted that the federal government remains focused on combating insecurity, highlighting the success of military operations against banditry in the northwest.
