ADC Requests More Time from INEC for Primaries

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has formally requested the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to grant additional time for conducting its primary elections. Chinedu Idigo, the party's secretary, made this appeal during an interview in Abuja on Friday.

He explained that ongoing internal crises and legal disputes have disrupted the party's schedule, leaving limited time for preparation. Despite these setbacks, Idigo affirmed the ADC's commitment to advancing its internal processes and urged INEC to ensure a fair electoral process that accommodates parties affected by unforeseen circumstances.

He highlighted the commission's responsibility to create a level playing field for political parties. Idigo also noted that the ADC has recorded significant growth, with four million Nigerians registered on its online membership platform.

He described a recent Supreme Court judgment regarding the party's leadership as a major relief that strengthens the ADC's stability and its determination to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in future state elections.
